2012 Portrait Society Conference

I attended the three-day annual Portrait Society Conference, which was held in Philadelphia over the Memorial Day weekend. This photograph was taken the first evening during 'Paint-Off.' I attended this session, one of five in progress, where three artists demonstrated their painting techniques to produce portraits of a model. If you look closely at right edge of the back row, I’m the one with white hair wearing a white shirt.

The Portrait Society runs very professional conferences. Over the years I have learned much from the faculty, comprised of world-class professional portrait painters.

Now I’m ready to start sketching!

James R. Huntsberger
Oil on Canvas

This is one of the still life paintings I have completed recently. Janet grows Cleome near the back edge of our property because it requires little water or care and provides a bright spot of color and cut flowers. Cleome reseeds itself, which is fine with us, but if you don't want it to take over your flowerbeds, please remember to cut off the flower heads as they turn to seed!

This 14" x 11" canvas, framed in an antiqued-gold wooden frame, is priced at $1,200.

I will introduce Cleome at the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware Art Fest on Friday evening, November 2, 2007.

Framed in an three-inch wide antiqued black wooden frame with a one-inch white linen liner, Henlopen Light III is priced at $2,250.

This is a view of the lighthouse at Cape Henlopen where the Delaware River and Bay join the Atlantic Ocean. Built one mile from the water during the 1700's, the buildings slid into the ocean in 1926 when the land eroded.
